Good visibility, smooth setup

I signed up for the 14-day free trial to check out their Network Monitoring and Automated Network Inventory features. The onboarding process was pretty straightforward, even for our somewhat complex setup. It took about an hour to get all our devices discovered and mapped out, which was quicker than I expected. The network topology mapping is definitely a strong point; it gave us a clear picture of everything. I did have a small question about integrating with a specific older device, and support got back to me within a few hours, explaining the best workaround. The only minor hiccup was that the traffic analysis dashboard sometimes took a moment to load, but once it did, the data was accurate. Overall, a solid tool for network visibility.

Excellent visibility and alerts

I absolutely loved using Auvik for network visibility and alerts! The automatic network inventory really impressed me. It discovered everything so quickly, and getting those real-time notifications on issues was incredibly helpful. It saved me a lot of time troubleshooting. The interface felt intuitive, though I wish the reporting options were a little more customizable. Still, I'm definitely planning to use it again and recommend it to my colleagues!

Good value with free trial

I was looking for a decent network management solution that wouldn't break the bank. The 14-day free trial for Auvik was a good way to test the waters without commitment. I focused on the network performance monitoring and automated inventory features. They performed well for the price point, especially considering the annual billing discount if I commit. The initial device discovery took a bit longer than I expected for my setup, but it eventually mapped everything accurately. It felt like a worthwhile investment for the functionality provided.

Consistent results, happy to return

This is my third year using Auvik for our MSP's network management. We primarily use the MSP Management Console, and it's always been reliable. I initially switched from another vendor because of Auvik's better network mapping and configuration backup. This time around, I added more sites, and the process was just as smooth as the first time. The pricing structure for multiple sites is fair. I've found their Syslog Monitoring to be quite robust, catching issues before they become major problems. My only slight complaint is that the API integration could be more intuitive for a few niche applications we use. But for core functions, it's consistently delivered.

Easy to use monitoring

So I tried Auvik for network monitoring, and honestly, it was pretty straightforward. I was able to see what was going on with my devices without much fuss. Setting up alerts took a little figuring out, but once that was done, it just kinda ran in the background. It made keeping an eye on things way easier than before. Good experience overall, I'd say.

Reliable monitoring, easy to use

Used Auvik's Performance Monitoring for a few months now. It's been consistent. Device Discovery works well. Alerts and Notifications are timely. The remote management aspect is useful, although I wish the mobile interface was a bit snappier. Still, it does the job.

Good network mapping

I used the network mapping feature. It worked well for visualizing my network. Setup was mostly smooth. Took a bit longer to integrate with older devices, but overall, it's a solid tool for visibility. I got what I needed.

Good value, minor snag

I signed up for the Cloud-Based Network Management service after trying out the 14-day free trial. The setup was fairly smooth and the Network Visibility Software works well for our small team. I appreciate how quickly it maps out devices and the Performance Monitoring gives good insights. My only minor complaint is that getting a response from customer support about a billing question took 4 days to reach someone, which felt a bit long. Otherwise, I'm satisfied with the functionality and value for money.

Thinking of trying Auvik but also looking at SolarWinds. Anyone got experience with both? How do they stack up for a smaller team?

J Jeff L. 1 month ago
I used SolarWinds a while back, it's pretty robust but also kinda heavy. Auvik feels way lighter and easier to get up and running, especially for network mapping. Depends on your budget too.

O Olivia 1 month ago
Yeah, Auvik's cloud-based thing is a big plus. SolarWinds can be a beast to manage yourself. For smaller operations, Auvik's probably less headache.

Is Auvik any good for smaller setups, or is it mostly for huge enterprise networks? Just wondering if it's overkill for like, 50 devices.

J Joseph Nguyen 1 month ago
I've seen it used in pretty small environments, maybe not 50 but definitely a couple hundred. The scalability is there though, so it should handle it fine.

S Sean Scott 1 month ago
It scales down well enough. The features are pretty robust even for smaller teams who want good visibility without all the manual work.

Is there usually a way to get a discount? Or do they just do the free trial and that's it?

M Michelle Flores 1 month ago
They have a free trial, that's how I started. I think if you go annual billing you save some money too.

My company got a discount for signing up as an MSP partner, so those exist. But like, random coupon codes aren't really a thing afaik.

Hey, anyone know how much Auvik usually runs per month? Trying to get a feel for budget stuff.

B Brittany Wright 1 month ago
It's not really a straightforward per-month thing, they price based on how many devices you're monitoring. So it varies a lot.
2
Z Zach Sanchez 1 month ago
Yeah, what the other user said. You're better off getting a custom quote based on your network size. They don't just list a flat monthly fee.

Anyone know if they offer special rates for non-profits? I'm helping out a small charity and every bit helps.

J Jacob S. 1 month ago
I'm pretty sure I saw something about non-profit discounts in their FAQ. Worth checking out or just asking them directly.
1
C Chris Torres 1 month ago
Yeah, they do. I heard about someone getting a good deal for a non-profit organization. Don't think it's a huge discount, but it's something.

Can you actually map your whole network with this thing? Like all the devices and connections automatically?

E Ella Phillips 3 weeks ago
That's one of its strong suits! It discovers pretty much everything on your network and builds out a map. It's really slick.
6
C Chris T. 3 weeks ago
Yeah, the network mapping is surprisingly good. It'll show you all your devices, how they're connected, even the old stuff you forgot about. Saves a ton of manual work.

What kind of stuff can you do in the free trial? Is it like a crippled version or full features?

B Brian 1 month ago
It's pretty much the full deal, just limited to 14 days. You can explore all the network visibility and monitoring stuff.
5
M Matt Smith 1 month ago
You get access to everything, you can really kick the tires and see how it works with your actual network. It's a proper proof of concept.

how does the pricing work for this? is it like per device or what?

L Lisa Ramirez 1 month ago
From what I remember during my trial, it is per device. You get a certain number of devices included, and then it scales up.
5
S Stephanie Lewis 1 month ago
Yeah, it's device-based. They have different tiers, and if you have a lot of devices, it's worth talking to their sales team for a custom quote or volume discount.
